This three-part institute offered by the NYC Literacy Assistance Center will be held on the following dates, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm:
This institute includes approximately 18 hours of synchronous online learning, asynchronous work, and instructional coaching that will be available to participants.

Description: The work around Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education (CRSE) is imperative. At its core CRSE embraces students’ identities as a source of knowledge and gives representation to more diverse voices and to marginalized communities. Compared to the extensive work done in K-12 and adult higher education, the breadth of research for community-based organizations and non-formal educational settings is limited (Jones, J. 2021). This institute will serve as a vehicle for critical reflection, enhancing adult educators’ knowledge, tools, and pedagogical strategies to create culturally responsive environments in the adult education classrooms.
